If you find yourself in Kamloops, BC you will not want to miss a tasting at Privato Winery & Vineyard.

Sample an unoaked chardonnay done in an old world French style, resulting in a slightly acidic smooth finished wine with hints of lime. This would be the perfect Summer white wine and could convert me to a chardonnay drinker. Imagine: sipping it on the deck, admiring the view, while socializing with friends or family.
If you prefer your chardonnay oaked, then you will enjoy Privato’s smoothly balanced lightly oaked version done in French barrels, that is dry and lingers on the palate with hints of citrus.  This would pair perfectly with a zucchini lime risotto, for example.
The Pinot Noir is an old world style with just the right amount of acidity that you would expect from a pinot, yet balanced with the tannins, resulting in a smooth full mouth feel with earthy notes and a dark plum flavour that lingers. This is the type of pinot that you would want to decant and taste over a leisurely evening to experience all that it offers as it opens. Pair this with our local wild salmon.
Next weekend Privato will release a Pinot Noir that has had extra time (two years) in the barrel to age and develop and I look forward to trying it.
